FTT - Mega Incentive

Dear Agent Amazing!

This one is for you...

We are running a First Time Transaction Mega Incentive from the 6th of March until the 5th of April.

Easter is a peak sending period. Maximize on customer registrations and FTTs and stand a chance to WIN an absolutely amazing prize.

The beauty of this competition is everyone, new and senior, has an equal opportunity to win. Registrations = activations = FTT's. It is a numbers game.

The main prizes are:

  1. Samsung TAB E.96
  2. Samsung TAB E.96
  3. 32’’ Hisense LED TV

To win is simple: be the leader on the FTT scoreboard for the commission period. The top 2 will each win a tablet, while 3rd place wins an LED TV (In case of a FTT tie, we will look at who had the most activations).

Second Tier Prizes:

  • 2 X Defy Microwave with LED mirror door
  • 3 X Pcs Luggage Travel Set bag
This is the lucky draw round!
To gain an entry and stand a chance to win you need to achieve a minimum of 15 FTT's in the commission period.

Awesome right!?!?!?

Now go out there and show Mama what you are made of.

CASH LAUNCH

Hello A-Team Player.

As you know, customers will have the choice of paying cash for their orders from the 1st of March. On top of that we have managed to keep the fee at 5% for cash customers!

To start with we have partnered with the following retailers: Shoprite, Usave, Checkers, Pick 'n Pay, Boxer and Spar.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

1. Customers will now have the choice between paying via eft or paying with cash.

2. If they choose to pay with cash a unique Pay@ reference number will be sms'd to them and they can go along to one of the partner retailers to make payment quoting the sms'd reference number at the point of sale.

3. We will still be launching our own bank card this year as we still believe cash-less is the future. However, we also understand that customers have a need to pay for their money transfers with cash.

COMMUNICATION:

1. HQ will communicate the cash launch with all our customers via WhatsApp and sms.

2. HQ will provide each agent with a list of all their active customers, so agents can personally get in touch with their customers.

3. All social media platforms will be used to spread the good news. Here we rely on agents to assist by liking and sharing posts.

COMMISSION:

1. Normally agents are paid 1% commission for customers registered within a 6 month window. However, due to the fact that quite a large number of agents have customers that they registered over a year ago, and with the advent of cash, we would like to give agents the opportunity to earn commission on those customers.

2. Therefore we will be dropping the 6 month window until the 5th of June. Which means agents will be paid 1% commission for all customers who transact regardless of when they were registered up until the 5th of June.

3. Remember you need to have a minimum of 10 newly activated customers per cycle or you do not qualify for the 1% commission.

4. If you have more than 5 inactive customers commission will only be paid once you bought that down to under 5.

If you have any questions please email matt@mamamoney.co,za

I am looking forward to seeing you all in Jozi this Saturday, the 27th of February and in Cape Town on the 5th of March, as we get together to celebrate our 1st birthday and the launch of cash payments!!

Best Regards,
Matt

Asking the right questions

Hello Mama Family,

I would like you to e-meet Agent Supremo, Blessed Dongo (pictured below).

Mr Dongo has a knack for asking the right questions and for coming up with some fantastic ideas.

Fittingly his WhatsApp status reads:

#It matters whom you go to if you want to fix a problem. Ask the right questions of the right people!

I have decided to answer one of his questions on this platform, as I believe you will all be interested in the answer:

Question: I have noticed that Zimbabweans are brand loyal customers. And now with competition from some established brands back in Zim like Ecocash as compared to our Zim partner Textacash, do you have any counter technique to unsettle the status quo in Zim?

The people at home have an influence to the sender here. E.g they can suggest the sender should just use XX service because there are no hustles of having to travel to collect T-cards.

My question is how can Mama help her partner to populate the country with Textacash Agents?

Regards,

Blessed.

Answer: The long and short answer is Textacash will become more accessible and grow in popularity in 2016 and we need to diversify our payout options in Zimbabwe.

The reason I say Textacash will become more accessible and grow this year is for the reason that more and more money transfer operators are partnering with them. They have connected with companies in the UK, Australia and here in SA with PEP.
This will only serve to create more awareness and lead to more people signing up for it.

Due to complexities in Zimbabwe we do not believe there is a silver bullet regarding payouts. In other words, we need to diversify our payout options so that customers/recipients can decide how they want the money to be paid out.
This forms part of our business development strategy for 2016.

Best Regards,
Matt

On a personal note, 2015 will go down as one amazing year. It was made this way because of the all the wonderful people I met along the way. Some of which the interaction was only for a brief moment and others were the start of relationships that will last a lifetime.

Thank you for playing your part in making my year amazing.

I have a substantial list of resolutions for this year, but the most universally pertinent ones are:

1. To be more positive.
2. To be more patient.
3. To spend more time running in the mountains (read as any form of exercise).
4. To continue to create jobs and opportunities in which people can grow.
5. To cut down on the consumption of news (negative), time on FB and interactions with negative people.

Kind Regards,
Matt

The Most Important Lesson I Ever Learned in Sales

One of the most powerful lessons I've ever learned in sales was actually one of the very first lessons I learned in the trade when I was just 18 years old.

A young kid that thought that selling was all about talking.
I was taken under the wing of one of the most successful sales directors in my area and one day he decide to do a little sales training session with me.

The setup was simple. I was to role-play a hyper critical customer. He would be the salesman. My task was to throw as many objections his way as possible.

Senior Sales Director: So Mr. Customer, what are your biggest concerns when it comes to the offering I just proposed?
Me: Well, the truth is I don't know if I can trust you. You experts all sound great and your pitches make total sense. But then another "expert" will come along and sell me on something totally different and he will make sense to me as well. I don't know enough about this area to make a good judgment call and have been burned before.
Senior Sales Director: Hmm...I see...that makes sense. What would you propose would be a solution to this dilemma?
Me: Uhmmm....
I remember this moment very very well. I remember my inner dialog going NUTS over his question. I wanted to be smart and thought "Shit...what's a good solution to this problem...better say something smart!"

Me: Well...I could have all of you sales guys show up at the same time and argue it out in front of me and whoever made the most sense wins my business!
Senior Sales Director: That's a good idea! Any others?

Now I was even more stressed out thinking "Holy shit another idea?!? I don't know any other good solution to this. Uhmm. Better say something fast..."

Me: "Well I could also ask around in my network to see if I know anyone who knows more about this and that I trust and that could advise me on the subject."
Senior Sales Director: Another good one! Any more options you can think of?

At this point I was totally out of ideas...I spent a few mins thinking as hard as I could and came up with some stupid idea that I can't even remember anymore. I just said something to say something.

Senior Sales Director: I see. You think there are any more ideas?
Me: No I don't think so.
Senior Sales Director: Well, let's recap then. We have option #1 which is to get all the sales people in a meeting and have them present their ideas together to you. Option #2 is to tap into your network and see if you can find an advisor & Option # 3 is [insert stupid idea]. Which of these options do you like best?
Me: I think #1
Senior Sales Director: Great. Let's do that then!
At that moment he came out of the role play, leaned forward, looked me dead in the eye and said
Senior Sales Director: Now who had to do all the work?
Me: Uhmm...me?
Senior Sales Director: Exactly! And that's how you always want it to be. Empower the customer to do all the work, come up with all the solutions and guide him along the way. Sales is easy.
I'll never forget what he said next:

"He who asks all the questions is controlling the direction of the conversation. Sales is all about asking questions and actively listening and very little about talking."

That was probably the most profound advice I have ever gotten regarding sales and it triggered a major mindshift in me on what good communication is really all about.

P.S. post the most common objections/questions customer ask you when you are pitching in the comment box below.
